§ PROGRAMS · Junior-High Science

Grades 7–9

Science isn’t memorization —
knowing it by heart isn’t knowing how to use it

Students make the phenomenon happen and see it with their own eyes first, so the explanation actually lands. Concepts they truly understand show up in their exam results.

Course featuresFeatures

What makes this course different

Five design choices that help students truly understand — and score

  • 01

    Combined-edition textbook

Our materials draw together the key points of the Nani, Kang Hsuan and Hanlin editions, so students are ready for school exams whichever edition their school uses

  • 02

    Curriculum labs plus gifted-level extensions

Every experiment in the national curriculum, plus extension experiments at gifted-class level

  • 03

A teaching assistant in every class

Each class has its own teaching assistant, so every student gets help the moment they need it

  • 04

    Paced to school exams

Lessons follow the timing of school midterm exams, so review lines up with what is being tested

  • 05

    Free Sunday practice before midterms

Free practice sessions before each midterm to target key points and fill gaps in time

FAQFAQ

What parents ask most

Anything else, just ask STARK Lab on LINE

QHow is a STARK Lab science class different from a typical cram school?
STARK Lab teaches experiment first, theory second: students observe a phenomenon with their own hands, then the teacher explains the principle behind it. Every class includes a real hands-on experiment — students do it themselves rather than watch a demonstration. That is a very different approach from a cram school that teaches only what is on the test; the aim is for students to genuinely understand science and enjoy it.
QHow do you follow school exam schedules when every school moves at a different pace?
STARK Lab uses a combined-edition textbook that brings together the key points of the Nani, Kang Hsuan and Hanlin editions rather than tying students to one school’s book. Lessons follow the usual midterm rhythm, so students from different schools all benefit, and free practice sessions before each midterm add extra review.
QCan my child join a junior-high class mid-way?
A new class opens every July for students entering Grade 7; starting in Grade 7 gives the most continuity. To join an existing class, message us on LINE first so we can check for openings and how your child’s progress lines up.
QAre the pre-midterm practice sessions free, and open to every student?
Yes. The Sunday practice sessions before midterms are free for every junior-high student enrolled with us. The teacher leads a focused review of the upcoming exam material — an extra for regular-class students.
QWhat does tuition cover? Do we need to bring materials?
Tuition includes all lab materials, so there is nothing to buy. Students only need a notebook and stationery; STARK Lab provides every reagent, instrument and consumable used in the experiments.
QHow do we book a trial class, and what does it cost?
Add our LINE official account @starklab and tell us your child’s grade and the class you are interested in. We will confirm a trial date and the fee (one single-class fee). On the trial day your child joins a regular class and does the experiment alongside the other students — there is no separate trial session.

Since he started your classes, his interest in physics and chemistry has grown so much and his grades have clearly improved. I used to drag him to every class — now he refuses to skip even with a fever, because “today the teacher is doing experiments with us.”

Hello teacher. After your coaching, his final-exam results are out and he improved a lot (2nd in his class, 116th in his school). He’s so happy. Thank you so much for helping him pull his score up step by step — we hope he keeps improving next time (into the school’s top 100). I’m so thrilled! Before the exam … I was secretly sure finals would be a disaster again, so I didn’t dare ask how it went, until Monday night when he happily told me the results. Ha ha — you really are amazing. Thank you so much.

Thank you, teachers, for the review. His physics and chemistry score jumped 14 points at once, from 60 to 74. It’s still some way from the 90s he used to get, but the extra practice really made a difference. Thank you, teachers — thank you for all your hard work!

… He says he really likes your classes, that you’re a wonderful teacher who explains patiently whenever he has a question, and it has given him a little confidence to ask the teacher … He truly loves it here. As his mom, hearing that made me so happy and moved. Thank you — you really are a wonderful teacher.

Thank you for your teaching. Since 9th grade her science grades have been very steady, and she loves your classes. Thank you for this year of dedicated teaching and support. Being able to take science at STARK, she feels fulfilled and lucky.

The courses are diverse and varied. Taiwan rarely has experiment-first science courses like this, and the science-fair experience and training simply can’t be found elsewhere. Thank you STARK for keeping my child top of the class!

Try one class first

Junior-high classes offer a trial for one single-class fee, doing the experiment alongside the regular students.
Enrollment can wait until your child has tried it. Message us on LINE with your child’s grade, and we’ll check openings and arrange a date.

The new Grade 7 biology class (every July) takes online enrollment; for Grade 8 or 9, please check openings on LINE first.
