Every step we have taken

It started with one laboratory in Anping, Tainan, in 2017. Below are our milestones and competition results — every one of them verifiable.

    SCIENCE FAIR

    66th National Science Fair — award winners, international bound

    Both our junior-high and high-school teams reached the national final as regional champions, won awards, and are preparing for international science fairs.

    HONORS

    World-champion team honored by the Premier

    After the world finals, our competitors were received and commended by the Premier at the Executive Yuan, with congratulatory telegrams from the President and Vice President.

    COMPETITION

    2026 World KidWind Challenge · World Champion

    Our trained competitors won the Junior-High World Championship and the KidWind Spirit Award, plus the Senior-High Blade Engineering Award, at the world finals in the USA.

    CERTIFICATION

    Southern Taiwan's First KidWind-Certified Lab

    Jointly certified by AESEA and KidWind (USA) — one of only two certified labs in Taiwan, and the only one in the south.

    PARTNERSHIP

    Dual-axis shake table delivered to NCKU Civil Engineering

    Completed a two-year engineering commission from National Cheng Kung University Civil Engineering - a dual-axis shake table that replays historical earthquake data.

    CERTIFICATION

    VSTC launched — the world's first certified cohort

    Officially launched the Vernier Science Technology Certification under US authorization and held the first exams — our students became the first certified cohort worldwide; the credential is recognized in the MOE learning-portfolio database.

    COMPETITION

    Five national awards at first inquiry-competition entry

    Our first entry into the national science-inquiry competition brought home five awards, including a national second place, across elementary, junior-high and high-school divisions.

    PARTNERSHIP

    Taiwan's first certified KidWind workshop, with NMNS

    Became the first external teaching partner of the National Museum of Natural Science, co-hosting Taiwan’s first officially KidWind-certified wind-energy workshop.

    STARK Lab 2.0 opens

    Moved to No. 417, Guoping Rd., Anping — a seven-floor, 890 m² laboratory building, opened with the 2023 summer camps.

    CERTIFICATION

    Sole official training partner, KidWind Asia League

    Named the only officially recognized pre-competition training provider for the KidWind Asia wind-energy league.

    Accredited by the international STEM.org organization — an extremely rare credential in Taiwan.

    Invited to Taiwan Science Festival two years running

    The earthquake-engineering teaching kits co-developed with NCKU Civil Engineering were exhibited at the Taiwan Science Festival (NTSEC, Taipei) for the second consecutive year.

    SCIENCE FAIR

    Double win at the 62nd National Science Fair

    Our student won the Local Special Award and the MediaTek Merit Award in Engineering (II) at the 62nd Taiwan National Science Fair.

    Commissioned by NCKU Civil Engineering

    Commissioned by National Cheng Kung University Civil Engineering to develop teaching kits and film instructional videos for an online earthquake-safety course - the start of a long-term collaboration.

    MOU signed with Vernier (USA)

    Signed an MOU with Vernier Asia and began building what is now the largest collection of Vernier research sensors in Taiwan.

    NCKU teacher-certification program launches

    National Cheng Kung University’s cross-disciplinary science-teacher certification program opened its first cohort, with STARK Lab as the lead unit.

    Founded in Anping, Tainan. From our very first lab room, we set out to do one thing: let children do science with their own hands.

NCKU Cross-Disciplinary Teacher Program

Lead unit for National Cheng Kung University's cross-disciplinary science-teacher certification program.

Taiwan's Only Vernier Test Center

The only authorized Vernier Science Technology Certification test center in Taiwan — and the largest collection of Vernier sensors in the country.

Deep Partnership with Northern Teams

STEAMLab Taiwan (Zhubei), TechArt Talks (Taipei) and Pley School — we partner closely with these three northern teams to bring their courses to southern Taiwan.
