A STARK Lab student beaming beside her turbine at the KidWind international wind-energy competition

EST. 2017 · ANPING, TAINAN

STARK is a laboratory,
for children who take science seriously.

From elementary science and junior-high physics & chemistry to high-school inquiry, and on to cross-disciplinary teacher training. No endless formulas to memorise here — just one real experiment after another.

§ 01 · Explore · Where curiosity begins

EXPLORE.

We do first, and explain later. Only once a child has observed something can the idea connect to the picture already forming in their mind.

From elementary science, junior-high biology and physical science, high-school inquiry and practice, to cross-disciplinary teacher training — STARK is one of the few labs that connect the entire chain of science education.

§ 02 · Experiment · You only learn by doing

EXPERIMENT.

What truly sticks is never what you're told — it's what you've done yourself. Once the hands move, the eyes follow, and so does the mind.

The most important sound in our classroom is not the teacher — it is the equipment in the students’ hands. In every single class, children must do it themselves. When the hands move, the eyes follow, and so does the mind.

02Over 80% of every class is hands-on operation and observation

§ 03 · Evolve · More than science

EVOLVE.

Beyond science, there's technology. With research-grade instruments, we help children take one more step toward the real world.

A full set of research-grade Vernier sensors puts the same tools in children's hands that real researchers use. We also invite STEAMLab Taiwan (Zhubei), TechArt Talks (Taipei) and Pley School down to teach in Tainan, bringing the north's best courses closer to home.

EVOLVE

Not an ordinary classroom —
a space built to laboratory standard.

We believe children deserve a place that takes science seriously. Walk in, and you will see we build the space and the equipment to exactly the standard they should be.

We don't play pretend. Every class builds a real, complete scene for the child — the right equipment, the right setting, the right sense of occasion. Nothing left out.

“We insist every detail is in place — because what children deserve isn’t a toy, it’s a real experience.”
Vernier authorized research certification — the only one in Taiwan

N°02 · VERNIER SCIENCE TECHNOLOGY

Taiwan's only international-grade
research certification center

We are the only authorized Vernier Science Technology Certification test center in Taiwan. Children train here, get certified here, and earn an internationally recognised research certificate.

「We don’t just raise children who understand science — but children who can produce a certificate, and who genuinely love research.」

Why us?

VERIFIED · INDEPENDENT CREDENTIALS

C / 01

STEM.org International Accreditation

A professional STEM classroom accredited by the international STEM.org — an extremely rare credential in Taiwan.

C / 02

NCKU Cross-Disciplinary Teacher Program

Lead unit for National Cheng Kung University's cross-disciplinary science-teacher certification program — training Taiwan's next generation of science teachers.

C / 03

Taiwan's #1 in Vernier Sensors

We own more Vernier science sensors than anyone in Taiwan — force, light, temperature, electromagnetism, physiology. Research-grade instruments, right in the child’s hands.

C / 04

Working with Northern Teams

STEAMLab Taiwan (Zhubei), TechArt Talks (Taipei) and Pley School — we bring these northern teams down to teach in Tainan, so southern children need not travel north.

S. Taiwan's First · KidWind-Certified Lab

Southern Taiwan's first — and Tainan's only — KidWind-certified wind-energy laboratory (AESEA × KidWind USA, Oct 2025). Our trained competitors went on to win the Junior-High World Championship (plus the Spirit Award) and the Senior-High Blade Engineering Award at the 2026 World KidWind Challenge.

§ VOICES · WHAT PARENTS SAY

It's not us praising ourselves —
it's the parents speaking for us.

Every comment below is taken from public posts on the official STARK Lab Facebook page — unedited, unpolished, translated from the original Chinese.

「A child who whined about every class — not one complaint here.」

STARK got a child who used to whine about every single class to never complain once — and we’re about to enter our fifth year, proud to take part in the 10th-anniversary celebration.

Ms. Yang5th-year parent
「All of it comes down to Teacher Chen’s spark.」

Our first class with Teacher Chen coincided with the pandemic. He proactively mailed a microscope and slides to our home for remote teaching. Our child got into the high school they wanted and still keeps a passion for science — all thanks to Teacher Chen’s spark.

Mr. ChenParent, junior high to high school
「Taiwan National Science Fair — Local Special Award × MediaTek Merit.」

I’m grateful to Teacher Chen and Teacher Lee for their patient guidance in science fairs from junior high through high school. In the end I won the Local Special Award and the MediaTek Merit Award in Engineering (II) at the 62nd Taiwan National Science Fair.

「His eyes light up, chattering about class — until he runs out of battery.」

The best part of STARK: every time I pick my child up after class, his eyes light up and he chatters non-stop about what happened — right until he runs out of battery.

Kristie W.Parent of an elementary student
「The rare dissection class — not to be missed.」

My child comes every winter and summer break. Their favorites are the elementary science labs and the 7th-grade biology course — especially the rare dissection class. Learning through play, falling in love with science.

「No expense spared — the kid’s ear-splitting recap is the proof.」

The course design spares no expense, and my child’s ear-splitting recap after class is the best proof of it.

「Taiwan rarely has experiment-first courses like this — you can’t find them elsewhere.」

The courses are diverse and varied. Taiwan rarely has experiment-first science courses like this, and the science-fair experience and training simply can’t be found elsewhere. Thank you STARK for keeping my child top of the class!

Elvis H.Cross-school parent
「Now he refuses to skip class even with a fever.」

Since he started your classes, his interest in physics and chemistry has grown so much and his grades have clearly improved. I used to drag him to every class — now he refuses to skip even with a fever, because “today the teacher is doing experiments with us.”

「Hands-on work had quietly shaped how he thinks.」

Take Newton’s third law — we cared about catching the ball, but he said the point is the reaction force! How much force, how high it bounces — work it out, then catch it. … Hands-on work had quietly shaped his thinking: doing, thinking and learning all at once.

Please accept our heartfelt thanks. The help you offered him back then — he has quietly kept it in his heart all along.

「The kids couldn’t wait to open my experiment kits.」

Once the kids knew I had passed the exam, they had long been eyeing my course materials — they couldn’t wait to open the experiment kits. Understanding what science does is how you learn what science can do.
